Coming to Boca Raton on Sept. 9: Brazilian Beat

August 22, 2017 | Admin

Brazilians celebrate their Independence Day on September 7th, and Boca Raton's own 2017 Brazilian Beat comes right on the heels of this South American holiday. It commemorates Independence Day just a few days late with a full night of authentic Brazilian music at the Mizner Park Amphitheater from 6 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 9.

Vanessa de Mata, a Brazilian pop star with a Latin Grammy under her belt, will headline Brazilian Beat. It's the beginning of her U.S.-wide tour. Expect to hear hits such as "Ai Ai Ai" and "Essa Boneca Tem Manual." Batuke Samba Funk brings the Brazilian big band sound to the stage just before Vanessa comes on, combining elements of '70s funk and Afro-samba. What's more, the SambaLa Samba School puts on a Rio-style parade before the concert begins. Admission to Brazilian Beat is free.
